Blue Apatite from Quebec. This is the only location from Quebec I have seen Apatite of this color and is similar in color to the Apatite from Lake Baikal. This is an obscure location about 100 km north of Ottawa, the capital of Canada. The largest crystal is 2.5 cm long and while rather crudely shaped with the ends having a melted appearance, does not appear to have any damage. All of the Apatite has a high luster. There is an unusual patch of bright red on part of the specimen. Even with a loupe I cannot tell if this is natural or something artfical such as paint.
