A section of a relatively large clear optical Calcite crystal from the Quincy mine. The surfaces of the specimen consist of 5 crystal faces, 2 cleavage plane and 3 contact areas. The specimen is quite clear and colorless and exhibits a number of rainbow interferences. Although an incomplete crystal, the specimen is in fairly good condition with only minor wear and some internal cleavages. The specimen is from the A. E. Seaman Museum but does not have a museum label.
