Mineral Specimen #3556 Barite, Quartz
Washington Co., Missouri
8.6 x 9.2 x 7.6 cm
Sold
A spherical aggregate of orange brown Barite crystals resets on a bed of botryoidal druze Quartz. The Quartz has formed rounded ridges and knobs and is hollow inside. The color of the Barite would appear to be iron oxide staining, except the specimen was heavily soaked in Ironout to clean the Quartz with little or no affect to the Barite. This is an unual specimen for the location.
The specimen is in very good condition with the exception of a coating of a white secondary material in places on the Quartz.
