Ex. H. R. McBroom, from trade with Sam Weller, 1987
A very curious and interesting specimen from one of the od. Classic mines of Cornwall. On an elongated, rounded, knob of massive, Milky Quartz, a thin layer of thin layer of micro crystalline Hematite grew which in turn is overgrown with a thin layer of Chalcedony colored a rich, reddish color with micro inclusions of Hematite. Aggregates of small Calcite crystals have grown on top of the Chalcedony. These Calcite crystals have a high, sparkly luster and have a slight orangish tint likely due to Hematite. There are a few micro crystals of Pyrite visible on the edges of the exposed Milky Quartz interior at the top of the specimen.
The specimen is in good condition with the exception of the area where the Chalcedony is broken open.
