Ex. Frank Melanson (Hawthorneden)
A well formed Tourmaline crystal which is a rich, bubble gum pink color. Note: the color is best represented in the pictures with the light background. The color varies vertically in the majority of the crystal with the central core being the most vivid in color. The exception is the top 8 mm near the termination which is very clear and has thin, horizontal bands of color. Overall, the crystal is quite gemmy and has a high, glassy luster. The termination is flat with interesting growth lines. The specimens has been mounted with hot glue on an acrylic base.
Condition: Very Good to Excellent
Flaws: There are a few small chips along the edge of the termination. Also, there are internal cleaves perpendicular to the C axis, which are common in Tourmaline crystals.
