Mineral Specimen #4550 Pink Datolite Crystals
Lower Copper Falls Mine, Keweenaw Co., Michigan
5.5 x 2.5 x 2.3 cm
Sold
Ex. Lillian Nadeau
Despite all of the Datolite nodules found in Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula (which are unique to the area); Datolite crystals are quite rare. In fact, I have only seen them from the Copper Falls area. The color varies from a light peach/pink to a darker, more reddish color near the bases of the crystals. The color is due to micro inclusions of native Copper. The crystals have a medium, glossy luster.
Condition: Good
Flaws: A couple of the crystals have cracks and there is a small area where the crystals are broken.
