A group of parallel orientated, overlapping and stepped Barite crystals. The crystals have a thin habit with beveled edges. The color is and off white and there are areas of rainbow like diffractions. The crystals have a good glossy luster and are semi transparent to transparent. On the surface of the crystals, there are small spherical aggregates of dark colored Goethite and some small, thin red areas which are likely Hematite. The location closed in 1980.
Condition: Fairly Good
Flaws: There is some chipping on some of the edges/corners. Many of the crystals have internal cleaves and one crystal is clevaed (upper left hand corner of first picture). One other crystal is incomplete (bottom of first picture).
