Collected circa 1980
Water clear Selenite has grown over elongated, thin, bladed Barite crystals enclosing the terminations of many of the crystals. The color of the Barite is a very light blue, almost white. Also present, there is some light brown colored Fluorite at the base of the Barite crystals. From an underground limestone quarry near Lexingnton, Kentucky from which specimens are seldom available. This specimen, due to the inclusions, is especially uncommon. A note on the photos: there is some slight variation in color because two different cameras were used - I was experimenting with an Android smartphone which delivers surprisingly good photos - except for colors and some overexposure of the lighter areas.
Condition: Fairly Good
Flaws: One of the surfaces of the Selenite has a number of scuff marks and shallow gouges on it. This is best visible in the 1st and 4th photos.
