The surface of this specimen is covered with a layer of light yellow colored Ettringite crystals. The Ettringite crystals have a good luster and the larger crystals have gemmy areas. There are also, smaller, micro crystals which are lighter in color. The matrix is composed of unidentified manganese oxide(s) and red brown colored Andradite. There is a thin layer of salmon colored material between the Ettringite and the matrix.
Condition: Good
Flaws: There is one small area which is a bit lighter which looks bruised but examination under 10x reveals small micro surgary crystals. I really cannot determine is this is a brusied area or not. The area can be seen in this first photo, in the upper right quadrant.
