Mineral Specimen #503 Silver Crystals on Copper Crystal
Lake Superior Copper District, Michigan
5 x 3.8 x 2.8 cm
Sold
This specimen is from an old Michigan collection I bought recently. The Silver was tarnished completely black. I was able to clean it by buffing with it with a a minimum of disturbing the tarnish on the Copper. The Silver crystals are large and rather crude. The Copper has two large crystal faces. From the texture of the rest of the Copper, it is apparent it grew in a amygdule vesicle in the Portage Lake Volcanic basalt.
