Mineral Specimen #5212 Silver on Copper Haflbreed with Epidote, Calcite, Quarz, Chlorite
Caledonia Mine, Ontonagon Co., Michigan
5.8 x 3.5 x 1.6 cm
$35 / Reserved
Crude Silver crystals perched on hackly Copper with bright green Epidote and gray/green Chlorite. The specimen has been cleaned and then preserved with a nonyellowing coating of matte lacquer applied be having been dipped. Because of this, it is hard to test the white material which in places appears to be Calcite but elsewhere is likey Quartz. There are quite a few casts after either Quartz or Calcite present in the Copper and even some faces visible on the Silver. Interestingly, the largest mass of Silver is partially covering some of this white material.
Condition: Very Good
Flaws: Nothing Appreciable
