Medium colored Amethyst with a sprinkling of micro Calcite crystals. The silver mines around Guanajuato have been in production since 1560. Amethyst specimens from the many mines in the area were common in the past, but for the last twenty years, only available sporadically. This specimen, and others, were purchased at Denver last fall (2016) and were mined earlier that year.

Condition: Good

Flaws: There is broken off Amethyst crystal on the edge of the specimen and hardly noticable (best seen on the left side of the specimen in the second photo).
