Blue colored Kinoite included in white, cleaved Calcite. Botryoidal Prehnite of an unusal, atypical orange color. This color is not an iron oxide coating but can be seen, on broken edges, to be up to 1 mm in thickness. This is the only location in Minnesota for the rare mineral, Kinoite, and the only one in Minnesota. Specimens from this location are seldom available. The location is an old, unnamed Copper mine with mineralization similar to that found in the Keweenaw Peninsula in Michigan.
Condition: Fairly Good
Flaws: The Calcite is cleaved which reveals the Kinoite. The Prehnite is in quite good condition with the exception of three small areas where there is breakage.
