Ex. A. Neely, wrapped in 1967 Hardin County Independent from 1967

This specimens consists of a layer of yellow Fluorite crystals which grew on a underlying matrix. There areh small purple cubic crystals covering the rest of the matrix. The specimen has been cut on the bottom to display in an upright position with the yellow Fluorite facing the front. Near the top of the specimen, the yellow Fluorite has a thin edging of purple just below the surface. These crystals near the top of the specimen have smooth surfaces with a high luster. The surfaces of the yellow Fluorite further down have little or no luster because the surfaces are composed of casts after small needle like Calcite crystals. The backside of the specimen is covered with small, purple cubes of Fluorite with small white Calcite crystals in places. The cut surface reveals the presence in the matrix of mixed sulfides including Sphalerite and Galena.

Condition: Good

Flaws: There are a few minor chips on the edges and corners. The back side of the top crystal is a healed cleavage.
