The matrix of this specimen is composed entirely of light colored Quartz which on the surface consists of druze crystals. Atop the Quartz are rosettes of bladed Barite crystals of a light pinkish color. The remaining surface of the druze Quartz is coated with reddish micro crystals of Hematite. The Montreal Mine has been closed since the 1960s.
