Ex. Robert Gannon

Radiating, short, needle like, green Brochantite crystals cover approximately a quarter of both sides of a relatively large, discoid shaped Barite crystal. Most of the Brochantite crystals have been coated with a thin layer of clear Calcite (tested with HCl) which lightens the color of the Brochantite. There are a few Brochantite crystals which have not been covered with the Calcite. These crystals are a very dark green color which appears to indicate some sort of psuedomorphic replacement. There are also a few Brochantite crystals included within the Barite. The Barite is iron stained a light orange color which contrasts nicely with the Brochantite. A note on the colors: it was most difficult to get the colors correct, the second picture is the most accurate.

Condition: Good

Flaws: The Barite crystal is incomplete with cleaved surfaces at both ends and there is a small bruised along the edge near the middle. There are numerous internal cleaves in the Barite.
