A solid mass of Hematite composed of dark colored, almost black, Hematite crystals. Although quite a few of the crystals are damaged, the faces of the intact ones have a subtle iridescence on the beveled crystal faces. The color of the iridescence is either a light green or a light pink/orange. Only one color is present on a single crystal face although two adjoining faces on a single crystal can exhibit each of the colors. Where the crystals are broken, the underlying Hematite is a silvery color with a metallic luster. This is classic material from the Isle of Elba.
