Ex. Norm Woods
A plate of cubic, Fluorite crystals over two previous generations of Fluorite. The crystals are a very pale, straw yellow color with a slight hint of green (a litlle more pale than in the pictures). Below the crystals, there is a layer of Fluorite which is a light pink and below that, on the bottom of the specimen, there is a layer of green colored Fluorite. The crystals are well formed with a high luster and translucent to transparent in places. Perched on the surfaces of the crystals are a crystals labeled as Pyrite on the old label. Under close examination, these appear to be Marcasite, both in habit and color. There are more of these crystals included in some of the Fluorite crystals. Under LW UV, the top layer of Fluorite fluoresces a vivid blue/violet (note: my UV light is getting old and with a better filter, the color is likely more blue). Classic material from France and likely from the Fontsante mine.
Condition: Very Good
Flaws: The corners of a couple of the Fluorite crystals are incomplete. Also, there are internal cleaves below the corners of a few other crystals. However, none of this is very norticable and the specimen is otherwise in very good condition.
