The Copper in this specimen formed between layers of Nonesuch Shale which caused it to have a flattened habit. There is still a bit of the shale attached as well as white colored Barite. The Copper ranges from hackly to well formed crystals. On much of the specimen, the surface has a red coloration due to a thin layer of Cuprite caused by oxidation. Rather unusual for the species, the Barite fluoresces a dull orange (but not strong enough to get a decent photo).
Condition: Very Good
Flaws: The Barite is present as massive material with cleavage plane surfaces.
