Datolite nodules from the copper mines of Michigan's Upper Peninsula come in a large variety of colors with yellow being one of the most sought after and rarest with the Mesnard mine being one of the most famous. This nodule is a distinctive yellow/butterscotch color for which this mine is noted. Around the edges, the Datolite is lighter in color with a hint of purple. The nodule has been cut in a domed shape rather than in flat slices which is likely indicative it is an older specimen when Datolites from the location were more plentiful. The surface has a very high polished luster.
Condition: Excellent
Flaws: Nothing Appreciable
