The Dumortierite of this specimen is a light blue, cyan color. It is present on the surface of two faces of the Quartz crystals as parallel lines perpendicular to the length of the crystal. The crystal is double terminated with a single, simple termination at one end whereas the other end is composed of complex multiple terminations. Just below the surface of these terminations is more Dumortierite which in places forms phantoms just below the surface. Under UV SW, the Dumortierite glows a color similar to Scheelite. Please note: the UV photo had to be edited extensively to get a decent approximation of this color, but the color is more similar to Scheelite than depicted.
Condition: Good
Flaws: Below the surface of the crystal face opposite the thinner face with the lines of Dumortierite, there is a large internal fracture. On this same face, there is a small chipped area missing. None of this is visible when the specimen is viewed with the Dumortierite showing.
