Tectosilicates are composed of interconnected SiO4 tetrahedrons where all the oxygens are shared with other tetrahedrons yielding a silicon to oxygen ratio of 1:2. Where only silicon and oxygen are present gives rise to the Quartz family composed of SiO2 . In most other Tectosilicate minerals, the aluminum ion can substitutes for the silicon ion in the tetrahedrons are called with Al-Si framework.
Feldspar group (Albite, Microcline, Orthoclase, Oligoclase, Anorthite, and Feldspar varieties of Moonstone, Amazonite, Labradorite, Pericline and others), the Feldspathoid group (Sodalite, Lazulite, Leucite, Nepheline and others), Scapolite and others
